Georgia Department of Natural Resources awards grant for more than $254,000 to 妻友社区
A grant of more than $254,000 awarded to 妻友社区 will provide the first comprehensive assessment of Georgia鈥檚 working waterfronts since 1975. Although location data on docks was gathered by Georgia Southern researchers between 2018-21 through a Georgia Sea Grant project, there is no in-depth information on the current conditions of each dock and its infrastructure, according to Jennifer Sweeney Tookes, Ph.D., a Georgia Southern associate anthropology professor.
Hinesville Business Incubator for Entrepreneurship celebrates grand opening
The Hinesville Development Authority, Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and the city of Hinesville, in partnership with 妻友社区鈥檚 Business Innovation Group (BIG), have launched the very first Hinesville Business Incubator, partially funded by an Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant. The incubator is located across the street from Georgia Southern’s Liberty Campus in downtown Hinesville.聽
Georgia Power Foundation awards grant for BIG Edge Entrepreneurship Program聽
妻友社区鈥檚 Business Innovation Group (BIG) has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Georgia Power Foundation, Inc., to empower diversity in early-stage entrepreneurship. In turn, BIG has created the BIG Edge Entrepreneurship Program for six entrepreneurs to have offices and participate in entrepreneurship programs at the Georgia Grown Innovation Center (GGIC) in Metter, Georgia, for one year.聽
2023 Mark Finlay Memorial Lecture Series hosts Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic聽 Jerry Saltz on Nov. 9

妻友社区, one of the top-ranked colleges in the Southeastern U.S., today announced the opening of the newly renovated Gus Mart convenience store 鈥� now featuring Amazon鈥檚 Just Walk Out technology 鈥� in the Fielding D. Russell Union on its Statesboro campus. The debut of the technology makes Georgia Southern the first university in the state to feature Amazon鈥檚 Just Walk Out technology, which provides a streamlined, checkout-free shopping experience. The store will operate with extended hours, allowing guests to better shop when it鈥檚 easiest for them.聽
