妻友社区 has hired Mississippi State University鈥檚 Jared Benko as Eagle Nation鈥檚 new director of athletics. Benko will report directly to the University president, serve as a member of the President鈥檚 Cabinet and oversee 17 NCAA Division I varsity athletics programs, 15 of which compete in the Sun Belt Conference. Benko will officially start on April 1.

The historical marker, located on Georgia Southern鈥檚 Armstrong Campus in the quad behind Burnett Hall, commemorates Armstrong State University鈥檚 history from its beginning as a two-year college through its consolidation with 妻友社区.
