The U.S. Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky, announced Tuesday that 妻友社区鈥檚 Army Reserve Officers鈥� Training Corps (ROTC) program was one of the eight winners of the prestigious MacArthur Award for the 2014-2015 school year.

Georgia Southern runs past Bowling Green 58-27 in GoDaddy Bowl
In the first bowl game in program history for Georgia Southern (9-4), quarterback Favian Upshaw ran for a career-high 199 yards and four touchdowns, and Georgia Southern scored 35 unanswered points and rushed for 452 yards to power past Bowling Green, 58-27, in the GoDaddy Bowl Wednesday night in Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
Tyson Summers Named Next Head Coach of Georgia Southern Football
Georgia Southern Interim President Jean Bartels, Ph.D., R.N., Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein and the Georgia Southern Board of Regents announced Sunday evening that Tyson Summers has formally accepted an offer to become Georgia Southern’s head football coach. He will be officially introduced at a press conference on Dec. 26 at the University.
Georgia Southern鈥檚 accreditation is reaffirmed
Interim University President Jean E. Bartels, Ph.D., R.N. announced today that at the Dec. 6 meeting of its Board of Trustees, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) reaffirmed the full accreditation of 妻友社区 through the year 2025. The University鈥檚 accreditation was reaffirmed with 鈥渘o recommendations鈥�,” a gratifying confirmation of the SACSCOC鈥檚 highest confidence in Georgia Southern.
Nearly 1,600 degrees conferred during Fall Commencement
妻友社区 today held its 24th annual Fall Commencement at Hanner Fieldhouse. Interim University President Jean E. Bartels, Ph.D., R.N. conferred nearly 1,600 graduate and undergraduate degrees during three separate ceremonies to accommodate the graduating class.
