Georgia Southern hosts free children鈥檚 literature lecture on Armstrong, Statesboro campuses Oct. 14, 15

妻友社区 will host a free children’s literature lecture by law professor and author Jonathan Todres. Todres, who teaches law at Georgia State University, will present “Advancing Human Rights: The Role of Children’s Literature” on the Armstrong and Statesboro Campuses Oct. 14 and 15.

Everyone鈥檚 favorite spooky family 鈥 The Addams Family 鈥 coming to Armstrong Campus this Halloween

妻友社区鈥檚 Armstrong Campus student-theatre group, The Masquers, will present 鈥淭he Addams Family,鈥 a new musical based on the book written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and characters created by Charles Addams. The show features music and lyrics by Andrew Lipp and will run Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. and Nov. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Jenkins Hall Mainstage Theatre.

妻友社区鈥檚 Center for Sustainability is gearing up for its seventh annual GreenFest, set for 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, in downtown Statesboro.

Georgia Southern celebrates 鈥40 Under 40鈥 Class of 2019

The 妻友社区 Alumni Association 鈥40 Under 40鈥 Class of 2019 was recognized at an awards luncheon on Friday, Sept. 27, in the Nessmith-Lane Center Ballroom on the Georgia Southern Statesboro Campus.

Georgia Southern to host reading with acclaimed poet in Savannah

妻友社区 will host a reading by the critically acclaimed poet Beth Ann Fennelly in Savannah, as part of the annual Armstrong Visiting Writers Series. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at Savannah Coffee Roasters on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. Fennelly is the Poet Laureate of Mississippi and the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, a United States Artists Award, a Pushcart Prize and a Fulbright grant to study in Brazil.

Student-directed black box show, 鈥楴o Exit,鈥 opens on Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus on Oct. 3

妻友社区 Armstrong Campus鈥 student-run theater group, The Masquers, will present “No Exit,” its first black box show of the season. The show will run Oct. 3 through Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission and discounts are available for military, seniors and children. Georgia Southern students, faculty and staff attend for free.

Georgia Southern hosts 2019-20 A Moveable Feast lecture series in Savannah

妻友社区 will host the 2019-20 Moveable Feast lecture series, featuring lectures and performances by distinguished faculty from the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses. The sixth annual series is presented by the College of Arts and Humanities, in cooperation with the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, and will kick off Oct. 10. All events will take place in historic venues throughout Savannah and are free and open to the public.

The Master of Public Health program in the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at 妻友社区 has been ranked #1 in the nation by SR Education Group.
